For nearly 30 years, NCIA has provided criminal justice services to defense attorneys, defendants, inmates, and court systems throughout the country. We have worked with more than 10,000 clients in all 50 states and have developed and implemented sentencing programs in 15 states and trained thousands of public defenders, probation officers, and other court staff. We have offices in Baltimore, Maryland, Alexandria, Virginia, and New York City.
When assisting defense attorneys or defendants facing sentencing, we provide assistance in understanding the applicable sentencing statutes or guidelines and design individualized sentencing reports or memoranda, which include specific sentencing proposals. In addition to sentencing advocacy, we also provide capital case mitigation services, parole release advocacy, institutional designation and transfer, and release planning (See Prison Advocacy).
NCIA is also available to speak at your law firm and has prepared seminar specifically for criminal defense attorneys (click here for an example agenda). Christopher Adams from Walder, Hayden and Brogan P.A. had this to say about a recent seminar held at his firm:
"On behalf of my entire firm, thank you for the excellent and very informative seminar you gave on sentencing issues impacting criminal defense. The materials were chock full of creative ideas for criminal defense attorneys, and your presentation surrounding those materials were proof positive that your assistance in preparation for sentencing of our clients is essential to attempting to achieve the best results we can."
