At just 19 years old, Deshawn achieved all HVAC certifications, setting a remarkable standard for his peers. His exceptional skills and commitment quickly caught the attention of potential employers.
Shortly after completing his training, Deshawn received an employment offer from the National Institute of Health, with an impressive starting wage of $31.00 per hour.
Deshawn’s journey didn’t stop there. He has become an ambassador for the VTC, sharing his experiences and inspiring others.
Deshawn has been a panel speaker in Washington, D.C., and a graduate speaker at VTC graduations. He frequently returns to the VTC to motivate and guide current HVAC students.
Though not originally from the city, Deshawn’s success has led him to invest in Baltimore. At the age of 20, he is a proud homeowner and landlord, contributing to the community’s growth. Additionally, Deshawn has ventured into entrepreneurship, operating a business in Baltimore City. Deshawn’s journey is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved with determination.
