Malik turned his life around after incarceration by joining NCIA’s Vocational Training program. Now employed at Sessa Sheet Metal Contractors, he says NCIA “helped me find a trade I love and a clear path for my future.”

Roland came to NCIA’s Baltimore Vocational Training Center unsure of his future. Through dedication and hard work, he became a top student and is now employed with NTB through NCIA’s job partnership. “NCIA gave me confidence and a career I’m proud of,” Roland says.

At just 19, Deshawn completed NCIA’s HVAC program, earned all certifications, and secured a $31/hour position with the National Institutes of Health. Now a homeowner, business owner, and VTC ambassador, he says NCIA “gave me the skills and confidence to build the life I dreamed of.”

After incarceration, Dejuanta joined NCIA’s Charlotte Vocational Training Center determined to rebuild his life. He earned his certification, regained employment, and found happiness and purpose. Today, he’s a Supervising Mechanic and runs his own business—proof that with patience and perseverance, transformation is possible.

After 29 years of incarceration, Gregory rebuilt his life with NCIA’s support—earning his CDL, securing a promotion at Food Lion from $15 to $23 an hour, and restoring his family home in Charlotte. “It feels like a dream that just keeps going,” he says, grateful for his second chance.

Lafayette completed the VTC automotive program, and now works as an automotive technician earning $20/hour. He says NCIA “gave me the tools and confidence to turn my passion for working with my hands into a career.” Lafayette even volunteers to mentor current students sharing his experience and support.
