Youths with Disabilities

Exceeding Their Potential

We believe that everyone can achieve and exceed their potential with the right support, especially children with disabilities. To this end, our Youth In Transition School (YIT) focuses on our students’ physical, psychological, intellectual, and social needs. We’re a Type I full day special education and related services program, serving students ages 11-21 with autism, emotional disabilities, and/or intellectual disabilities. Our mission is “to provide a structured learning environment that will support the maximum development of each student.” Through disability advocacy, attentive care, disability life skills training, and academic programming that is designed to inspire and elevate our students, the YIT is dedicated to changing lives, one child at a time.

Our Goals

The YIT strives to provide individualized education for each student, through the following strategies:

  • Provide a safe environment for students to achieve success in school and in the community.
  • Provide special education classroom instruction and related services.
  • Work with students, their families, and local educational agencies toward moving students to their least restrictive environment.

We love to watch our students grow. Not only do they often reach their potential, but they often go far beyond it.

We cannot help students with intellectual, emotional, and developmental disabilities exceed their potential without you! Your donations help fund the critical programs that enable participants to flourish, embrace disability independence, and build an even stronger community.

We are grateful for the support that our NCIA family has provided over the years, and we look forward to continuing to provide these life-bettering—and life-changing services—to our recipients.

We welcome your donations and thank you sincerely for your heartfelt help and support. Your gifts make a real difference in real lives every time. Thank you.
